At Tortuga Ranch youth can find sustaining power and stability in the beliefs and culture of the Yoeme passed on from generation to generation. The architecture guides the individual along a processional sequence of spaces closely connected with the religion and culture of the Yoeme. This movement brings about a transition and detachment from the outside world and prepares an individual for therapy; and upon departure, prepares them to re-enter the outside world refreshed and renewed.
